The school project "CUBABAILA" was born in May-June 2001 with the idea of creating a school representing the Cuban music culture and cuban dance which are widely popular in the Latin American world. The project "CUBABAILA" was born in an area called "Brianza" located in the Lombardia region. The opening was held on September 30, 2001 at the headquarters of the Cultural Arts Dance School in Seveso, Milan. At that location CUBABAILA worked for two years with the A.C.A.D.
After the increased demand for new courses followed by the urge to create a completely independent and suitable space for the specific activities, CUBABAILA moved to its new and current location in Cesano Maderno in September 2010. The school has three large air-conditioned rooms with a total area of 500 square meters furnished in a classic Cuban style with wall paintings and large mirrors on the main walls. A high quality lighting system and audio equipment, a young and sparkling environment will be found and a team of highly experienced instructors will teach you to dance and have fun learning not only steps and figures, but also the fundamentals of music, timing and rhythm that accompain the Caribbean dances and the Cuban culture. Our ultimate goal is the dissemination and teaching of the expressions and feelings of folklore through dialogue, poetry, music and dance of our people. Thus will the mambo, salsa, afro, timba, cha cha cha and Cuban rumba will build a bridge between two continents separated by the immense ocean, but united by singing, dancing and music.
In our school the basic aim of the teacher is to build and spread knowledge among the students on different dancing styles and techniques with attention to form, timing and types of music that make up our cultural complex and to focus on the diversity of expression of body movements. Ultimately CUBABAILA and its staff will provide the students with a warm place full of affection and familiarity.
